Hollywood socialite Kim Kardashian is defending her much-talked about Vogue cover with fiance Kanye West, insisting she is "just so honoured" that they were chosen to grace the front of the fashion bible.
The celebrity couple became the centre of controversy when the cover photo for the upcoming April edition of the magazine was released last week, with Kardashian wearing a designer wedding down as her rapper fiance hugs her from behind.
The cover, photographed by acclaimed snapper Annie Leibovitz, features the headline "Kim & Kanye," while the accompanying tag line reads, "Their fashionable life and surreal times. #WorldsMostTalkedAboutCouple."
It was received with mixed reviews, but during an interview with U.S. late night talk show host Seth Meyers on Monday, Kardashian dismissed the negative comments and focused on the privilege of being on the cover itself.
She explained, "I knew it was happening of course, but I didn't know it would be the cover. I'm just so honored... Kanye's the first rapper, I'm the first reality star, we're the first interracial couple."
Kardashian noted that the photoshoot wasn't all glamorous, thanks to their nine-month-old daughter, North, who also appears in a few of the pictures.
She adds, "North peed on Kanye in that shot. He was trying to tell me. I had to get up and clean him off."
