Disgraced designer John Galliano has infuriated Jewish leaders in New York by attending a Fashion Week event in the city dressed as a Hasid.

The fallen fashionista, who was fired by bosses at Christian Dior after he was caught on camera during a drunken, anti-Semitic rant, was pictured in Manhattan on Tuesday sporting a hat and a long jacket with his hair in curly 'peyos' sidelocks.

Galliano's eye-catching attire also included boots and trousers tucked into his socks, but the outfit has angered some Jewish community leaders in the Big Apple.

Williamsburg community leader Isaac Abraham tells the New York Post, "He's trying to embarrass people in the Jewish community and make money on clothes dressed like people he has insulted. It looks like the hairstyle he added was done purposely to insult."

Brooklyn Assemblyman Dov Hikind fumes, "If it was just anyone else, I wouldn't know what to say. But considering who this guy is, considering his background and what he's said in the past, let him explain it to all of us: Are you mocking us?"

Rabbi and fashion designer Tobi Rubinstein Schneier adds, "This was not very smart, unless he really wants attention. I'm hoping that this is not in any way a mockery through this attire."

Galliano was convicted of racial abuse and fined for hurling an anti-Semitic tirade at a couple during a night out in Paris, France in February, 2011.
