Hollywood actress Eva Mendes is embracing her love of fashion by launching her own clothing line.
The Hitch star is teaming up with U.S. retail giant New York & Company to produce her own collection for the brand, and she will also act as an ambassador for the firm and front a major advertising campaign.
The actress' range, to be called Eva by Eva Mendes, will include daywear, evening dresses and accessories, and she insists it will have a vintage feel, telling Wwd.com, "I love anything that winks to yesteryear. You have to find what works for you. In this day and age where everybody has a stylist, I appreciate the kind of woman who steps out of the box. I love feeling like an individual. I want to share all these little tips with women."
Mendes also reveals the project is a huge challenge for her, adding, "I have a ton of ideas, but it's a bit early to discuss them. It's taking up all my time, but in the best way possible. Everything I see is a possible design. My mind is consumed by it."
The collection will appear in pop-up boutiques housed in New York & Company stores across the U.S.
