As the temperature soars, lightweight shoes and bags with a summery look have replaced closed-toe shoes and heavy leather totes.
"Cork-, rope- and wooden-soled shoes are among the current fashion favourites, along with straw and fabric bags," says Lee Costa of Globo Shoes.
High- and low-wedged heels are a summer mainstay, with heel heights ranging from a modest 2.5 to 5 cm on the low end to an intimidating 7.5 to 10 cm on the high end.
Thicker soles that are about 1.25 cm thick generally accompany cork and rope wedged heels.
Rope-soled espadrilles with fabric uppers are in revival mode, after being mostly off the scene since the 1970s.
Espadrilles feature the traditional canvas uppers or may be made of less traditional mesh or lace. Ghillie-tie ribbons that wrap around the instep and ankles are an important feature.
