Forget the Beatles' song about how money can’t buy you love — a dating website has determined the average Vancouver man is willing to pay hundreds of dollars for a first date with an educated woman who has black hair and brown eyes.

WhatsYourPrice.com, which allows women to accept money from men who bid on them for a date, used dating history from 1,000 local gents to uncover their perceptions of the perfect woman.

“People must love to date Asian women over there (in Vancouver),” website founder Brandon Wade told QMI Agency Monday.

The Las Vegas-based site measured the dollar value men placed on local women’s features based on the average bids they received.

Qualities such as a bachelor’s degree ($69), social drinking habits ($30), non-smoking ($13), combined with black hair ($152) and brown eyes ($37) added up to an average bid of $301.

Wade added blondes and brunettes are in high demand in most U.S. cities, but there was far more variance in men’s taste throughout Canada.

The ideal woman in Edmonton is a brunette with hazel eyes and a high school education, while Montrealers most valued women with red hair, green eyes and a bachelor’s degree.

Men in those two cities were willing to bid an average of $311 and $265, respectively, for a first date.

“That goes to show Canada as a whole has a really diverse population,” Wade said.
