"Welcome to reality," is the greeting on the latest entrant in the world of online dating sites. But this one is special: it's an exclusive club for ugly people.

Theuglybugball.co.uk is a British dating site that claims only 15% of the general population is pretty, and "pretty people generally aren't very nice and are often a bit shallow."

The solution? Well, it's kind of like hotenough.org, or hotornot.com. It's an exclusive dating website geared for ugly people, fat people and "the millions of people that don't like what they see in the mirror."

Since the site launched last week, it has already attracted more than 2,000 new accounts.

"It's a sad fact that up to half of the UK is made up of ugly people, yet amazingly nobody has ever thought of providing a dating service for them," creator Howard James told the UK Sun newspaper.

"Some of these will be moderately ugly, but others will have fallen from the ugly tree and hit every branch on their way down."

The site offers a free search feature, but users must create an account to view any of the profiles.
