Forgot the bar or fancy restaurants, our best mates are the best chance to find the best mate

At what age do you think people are most likely to find the love of their life?

Great, you like the same movies, you both love books and music and all that wonderful stuff, but what about the sex?

Seems Canadians are in agreement that testing out the bedroom goods is a smart idea before, say, swapping 'I dos.'

First comes love, then comes marriage? Yeah, right.

For the majority of us, it goes a little something like this: First comes attraction, then comes sex. While we may want to ensure a relationship is exclusive before getting naked, we're certainly not holding out until marriage, according to the Sun Media's Great Canadian Couples Sex Survey, conducted by Leger Marketing.

We polled 2,500 Canadians last month and found they largely believe friends provide the best opportunity for meeting a compatible match.

As for workplace romances, they too rank high, but before you decide to shag the hottie one cubicle over, you might want to consider the rather awkward outcome should things go bust. After all, post break up, who the heck wants to run into their ex every, single day? Generally bolting in the other direction is advisable.

Really shocking is how low Internet dating ranked. In fact, those who believe in the power of finding love online is a tiny drop in the Canadian dating bucket.

According to Dave Scholz, vice president of Leger Marketing, this doesn't mean Canadians are necessarily forgoing online profiles, however.

"It's aspiration rather than reality," says Scholz.

"I'd like to look around the room, meet someone's eyes and fall in love, but in reality that's very difficult. The ideal way is the old-fashioned way, but, reality is, the old-fashioned way doesn't work very well anymore."

While Canadians feel that Cupid can strike at anytime, many also say that true love comes to those who wait. Well, wait until their 20s and 30s, that is. Yep, it looks like those high school sweethearts are just primer for the real deal. Sure, stealing a kiss by the girl's locker room can be thrilling, however very few of us believe that those drama-filled, hallway hookups make for everlasting love.

Hey guys, if you want to kill the romance, booze is certainly the way to go. Drinking too much alcohol is one quick way to quickly turnoff for dames, although less so for guys.

Other libido zappers include bad body odour and nasty breath, as well as hearing a partner make lewd sexual comments about someone else and checking out another person. Um, yeah, I'd say in terms of dumb moves, ogling random strangers and talking about them in a sexual way is pretty high up there.
