A German publication is under fire after posting a photo of the Duchess of Cambridge’s bare bottom.

The photo was taken during Prince William and Kate Middleton’s tour of Australia and New Zealand in April and shows the royal couple walking with their backs to the cameras and Middleton’s skirt lifted by a gust of wind.

The newspaper, Bild posted the photo online alongside photos of Kim and Khloe Kardashian’s behinds, though they were clothed.

The same dress worn by Kate Middleton, a Diane Von Furstenberg wrap dress, previously hit fashion headlines when it immediately sold out online once the Duchess was photographed in it.

This isn’t the first time the Duchess suffered a “Marilyn Monroe moment" while visiting Canada. In 2011, QMI Agency photographer Andre Forget happened to photograph Middleton upon arriving in Calgary with her skirt flying away.

It was reported the recent photos of Middleton were shopped around to British press before Bild published them, and have since appeared in other European publications, though Middleton’s bottom has been blurred out.

Officials for the royal couple have not commented on the publication, however they have been known to take action against similar situations.

In 2012, Prince William and the Duchess filed suit against a French publication, Closer, after it published topless photos of Middleton while the couple was on vacation.
