Burger King is expanding its home delivery service in the US to Miami, Florida, after successful runs in states like New York, Texas, Maryland and Virginia -- a move that could be a game-changer in the landscape of fast food burger wars.
Though the service has long been offered from the chain's international restaurants in Mexico, Turkey, Brazil, Colombia and Peru, it's a first for the US.
By the end of the year, the burger chain says it plans to expand the service to 35 restaurants in the Miami area.
That would bring to 73 the total number of outlets across the US that will offer door-to-door service.
Minimum delivery orders are $10.
In the ongoing burger wars, BK's home delivery pilot project gives it an edge over rivals like Wendy's and McDonald's and enters territory long dominated by its fast-food cousin, pizza.
