Models take to the runway for menswear line Bustle's spring/summer 2012 collection, shown on October 20, 2011 at Toronto's LG Fashion Week. (Mark O'Neill/Toronto Sun/QMI Agency)
The show: Bustle
The designers: Shawn Hewson and Ruth Promislow
The look: This wasn't just a nautical style - it was yacht-worthy.
The groove: Rocking tunes like "Beaches & Friends" by French Horn Rebellion Vs. Database and "Tell Me Something I Don't Know" by Semi Precious Weapons.
The show stopper: An all-purple suit in the tones of royalty, lined with pink on the jacket, elicited nods of approval from the crowd. The bathing suit clad models sipping bubbly at the start of the runway, however, almost stole the show.
The iffy factor:
Zesty colours may be a hit with the style set, but it takes a confident man - perhaps a yacht-goer - to pull off a purple suit.
The shopping: Visit bustleclothing.com for boutiques.
Dapper men can look forward to a rainbow array of pants to choose from this spring, as Bustle will be offering lilac, iceberg, cobalt and scorching salmon.
Slick stripes were everywhere: pants, blazers, pocket squares, scarves and simple T-shirts were adorned with a highly appropriate embroidered anchor.
Drawstring's the thing, and Bustle proved it can work for menswear, too, pulling together both relaxed fit khakis and emerald shorts.
The only-a-designer detail:
On patterned coats featured vertical plaids and stripes, Bustle took a turn and added some horizontal detailing just across the upper back.
The favourite piece:
A navy blazer with white piping (and its reverse) drew more than a few "ooh"'s and "ahh"'s as a possible unisex topper.
The star following: Dan Levy, Nicole Richie, Samuel L. Jackson and more.
