The one sentence summary:
Feminine fashions that can stand up to the weight of their patterns.
Top trends:
Long skirts that stopped mid-calf or grazed the floor came in separates, as well as dresses, each depicting one of Stevenson's gorgeous original prints (with the exception of a long black number that could work in any number of ways).
High-waisted, loose fitting grey pants with pleats tapered to the ankles were a departure from the drop crotch options seen in so many lines, but the hues stayed on trend with deep purples and blues, often working in an ombre style to finish in a pale hem.
Notable quote:
"I'm a textile designer so I always start by designing the fabrics first. By creating garments out of my textiles, I turn my clothing into unique wearable art," said Stevenson.
The takeaway for everyday:
A nicely draped black shawl coat made from virgin wool featured military-style buttons along the sleeves and a leather belt to add interest - though it was the cowl neck that turned into a dramatic hood in the back that made this a piece a woman would be eager to wear everyday.
Beauty to the extreme:
Hair was rolled around the ears in a tight curl that surrounded models' necks that was slightly reminiscent of Princess Leia's buns, while eyes were shaded to the max with dark tones that reached to the browbones.
